Ella, thank you. I cannot begin to imagine what your family is dealing with right now. We are all devastated but determined to see what we can do with guidance from our young people. Kamala is a true gem. I am madly knitting a hat for my granddaughter and you are right…there is joy in producing something warm and comforting. Onward. Judith
This comes at a great time. The perfect cuddle cardigan may need to happen in my house for the wife and I. Thank you for sharing all of these. The week has been tough. I'm writing a post right now about the week adjacently to this comment. As a behavioral health professional it has been ROUGH. It is because of wam hearted individuals like yourself that we can look at the future with wide open eyes. So... to echo what will be many people today, thank you for your posts and shares. Continuing the good fight with warm hugs and validating emotions. Jack.
Thanks Ella. As hard as this has been for so many, I can’t imagine the intensity of emotions you dealing with…but it sounds like you’ve got a good handle on them…you’ve got to feel them. And creating is a wonderful outlet for “feeling good”. Hang in there, I know the best is yet to come.
thank you for sharing these - that chair is amazing. it’s been hard to navigate safe spaces and catching me off-guard is feeling worse today than wednesday. I’m learning what were once values aligned spaces and people are turning toxic with quarterbacking and finger pointing. fewer places left to turn.
Oh, Ella, thank you for sharing your ideas for really real comforts that are delightful to see and to imagine making. The cuddle cardigan got me smiling, and the pansy sweater got me thinking about yarns I already have—also the neat corner yarn holders. I can hardly wait to make a cool chair and lampshade—so glad I hung onto them after all. Love you, Ella🎶❤️
I cannot imagine a more appropriate time for a cuddle cardigan. Sending you all the crafting community goodness as you process. You’re a light. Onward we go!
I need to put up some of those yarn hammocks stat! I hope that you are starting a new week knowing that you and yours are loved by many. Here's to friends, family, and crafts. :)
I’m exhausted and I can’t imagine how your stepmom feels right now . She is a heroine of mine and she has reinforced my belief in good people. Any suggestions in the group for crafts for crafting groups . Must be easy to do in one evening. I am challenging myself and my anger to be functional
How about making a simple garland of “gingerbread people” holding hands (that’s how they are attached) out of brown paper bags—grocery sacks are heavier and will last longer. Tracing a cookie cutter makes it super easy!

Like Toni Morrison said, “This is precisely the time when artists go to work…”. Cuddle cardigans for all. Thank you, Ella 💖
